FAQ

1. WHAT HAPPENS DURING A DIABOLOFEST?

Each period starts out with a brief intro and basic diabolo instruction while the students are seated. The students then team up with their own diabolos and spend the bulk of the period practicing basic moves and even tricks. Music is playing, and the instructor is available for one-on-one instruction. After ~20 minutes, the students are reseated and the instructor performs an exciting demonstration of diabolo skills and tricks!

2. SOUNDS LIKE FUN, BUT OUR SCHOOL IS ON A TIGHT BUDGET. HOW MUCH DOES A DIABOLOFEST COST?

The DiaboloFest is a completely free program! The only cost for your school will be to make enough copies of our flyer to send home with interested students.

3. WHAT AGES CAN PARTICIPATE IN DIABOLOFEST?

Grades 3-8 can fully participate in DiaboloFest. Grades K-2 will not receive hands-on instruction, but are welcome to join in the fun by watching the exciting demonstration of tricks at the end of one of the periods.

4. HOW MANY STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE IN A DIABOLOFEST?

The Jester Games DiaboloFest program instructs up to about 150-200 students per period in the diabolo for the full day, during regular PE periods.  If your school requires two days for us to see all students, due to a larger student body or a block schedule, we will do our best to accommodate you.

5. WHERE SHOULD WE HOLD OUR DIABOLOFEST?

We prefer to instruct your students in your Gymnasium or MPR with a high ceiling. However, we can also use your blacktop or field. (Indoors is preferred, because winds can hamper ability to do the best tricks, like high tossing and catching.)

6.  HOW MUCH TIME DOES A DIABOLOFEST TAKE?

Each assembly is designed to fit within a regular 50 minute PE period, and we will be there for as many periods as you have students -- the entire day if necessary, starting with Zero Period. If your school is on a block schedule with longer periods, that's fine, too. For Grades 3-5 that do not have regular PE periods, we ask that you schedule one or more assemblies of 45-50 minutes in length, depending on how many students will be participating. In order to allow your students the maximum time on the diabolos, it's best if they do not dress out.

7. WHAT IS NEEDED THE DAY OF THE PROGRAM?

Jester Games provides all necessary equipment, including a sound system and diabolos for the students to use.

We ask that your school provide a table for your Jester to place his sound system and a chair for him to use between periods.

We also ask that all teachers with participating students be present during the DiaboloFest to handle any behavior issues. Besides, you won't want to miss out on the fun!
